Services Borehole Rehabilitation

Borehole Rehabilitation

Restoring failed, drying or low-yielding boreholes

Service Overview

Rehabilitation

We restore old and non-productive boreholes — cleaning, re-developing and re-equipping them to bring clean water back.

Many boreholes fail not because the water is gone but because the borehole has silted up, the screen is blocked, or the pump has broken down. Our rehabilitation service brings abandoned and low-yielding boreholes back to life.

We assess the borehole condition, clean and re-develop it, replace worn casing and screens where needed, and re-install a correctly sized pump.

Key Benefits

  • Far cheaper than drilling a brand-new borehole
  • Restores water supply without additional land or structures
  • Prolongs the life of your existing investment
  • Includes pump inspection, repair or replacement

Our Process

  1. 1

    Inspection

CCTV or mechanical inspection identifies blockages, damage and the cause of failure.

  2. 2

    Cleaning & Re-development

Air-lifting and flushing remove silt, sand and biofilm blocking the aquifer.

  3. 3

    Repair & Re-equipping

Damaged casing or screens are repaired and a correctly sized pump is installed.

  4. 4

    Testing

The restored borehole is test-pumped to confirm yield and water quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why has my borehole stopped producing?

Common causes include siltation, screen blockage, falling water levels or pump failure. We inspect to identify the exact cause before recommending work.

Is rehabilitation cheaper than a new borehole?

Yes. Restoring an existing borehole is normally a fraction of the cost of drilling and constructing a new one.
